Good Morning!

Feeling really good and ready to go out and find some trouble :)

Later

wiretapping up 26%

Wiretapping is up 26% and that does not include terrorist activity......

I read this article first thing this morning and my first thought was (well I don't have to worry about it because I'm not doing anything wrong).....
Is this the right attitude to have when it comes to safety, privacy, and feeling good?

Starting fresh every day

Starting fresh every day!

Today is a good day to start fresh. To make a commitment to ourselves to be the best we can be just for today.

There are two selves that exist in every person. One is the temporary self that has been created by the conditions of society and which usually has a limited appreciation of itself or it’s possibilities. The other is the REAL SELF; that spark of life, which causes you to have life. The one who knows that there is a bigger picture who can see life for what it really is. You can have a good conversation with the big YOU anytime you want to.
Here is how I started fresh today.

* Mirror Talk- Talk to yourself in the mirror just like you would a good friend who needs to have a reality check. Give yourself a self assessment. Be kind but firm. Confronting yourself can be just what you need to get started doing something you have been putting off (procrastinating). I found this technique worked so well that I want to tell everyone about it.

* Exercising everyday-Setting up a new routine for fun exercise took a while but I have finally made a solid commitment to myself to enjoy 30-60 minutes of fun activity everyday. Most of these free or low cost activities can be alone however it's always more fun when I do them with others so I have recruited some friends to join me whenever they feel up to it. Here is a list of some of the ways I can get going:

*Walking-walking is really fun for me and I just love going to Memorial Park and using the 3 mile loop.

*Playing Pickleball-The name sounds funny but this game is growing in popularity and I expect more and more people will be hearing about this fun way to meet new friends and get a solid work out.

*Jumping on my mini-trampoline-Just 15 minutes on this cute little jumper is fabulous for your whole system. Circulation, cardio, building strength in your legs and much more.

*Swimming- I found a wonderful place near my house that has a saltwater pool and a regular pool that's open all year round. I LOVE to swim.

Try the Mirror Talk technique and let me know how well it works for you!

The Next Nostradmus

The History channel had a really good program on that I watched this morning(DVR heaven)called The Next Nostradamus. It was about how human behavior and science combined makes predictions predictable.

Can a fringe branch of mathematics forecast the future? A special adviser to the CIA, Fortune 500 companies, and the U.S. Department of Defense certainly thinks so.

Why was it so good?

* It had great cinematography
* It had high production value
* It was very informative

I looked it up on the History channel website and saw the DVD for sale for $24.95 http://shop.history.com/detail.php?p=79913

Who was in this show?
Dr. Bruce Bueno De Mesquita Inventor of (scientific algorithm software to predict the future) teaches game theory at New York University and Stanford.
Vincent Bridges (An author and esoteric historian)
Michel de Nostradamus predictions
Kevin Kelly (wired magazine)
David Brin (Author and scientist)

Writer's Block: Take me as I am

Would you be upset if a long-term partner confessed that s/he'd committed a serious crime before you met? How do you think it would affect your relationship?

I have had experience in this in that my ex-partner (business and personal) didn't mention something to me that they should have. If I would had known this before we got seriously involved, I would have made a completely different decision.

Now you say...that's why they didn't tell me. They knew that if I would have known, I would not have gotten involved. I say, well yes, and since it was responsible for ending our relationship after 9 years and the pain it caused could have been avoided, if they were smart they would have made the same conclusion. Wouldn't you rather be with someone who would accept you just the way you are? If you were honest, you could avoid the pain and loss of a break up.

I am an open book with my future partners, business and personal and I expect the same from them. I have learned that some good questions to ask a future partner is...

*What have your previous partners complained about you?
*If I were to ask them what bothered them about you, what would they tell me?
*What are your regrets? If you could go back in time and change anything, what would it be?

I'm sure you could come up with more and we all probably should think about it more than we do but, human nature is predictable and we tend to gloss over our thoughts and fears hoping it will be different this time.

Happy Birthday Alex

Good Morning friends,

Today is my grandsons birthday party and my daughter and I are very excited about it. He's turning 3 and we are both amazed at how fast the time has flown by. For me I can't believe my daughter has children of her own because just a while ago she was a child herself. WOW time flys!!!

Alex's birthday is really Christmas Eve however I will be gone by then so we decded to have it while I'm here in Michigan. He won't know any difference :)

Snow in Houston?

Good Morning friends,

I heard from my friends in Houston that is was snowing this morning. Isn't that funny??? Here I am in Michigan and no snow. Maybe they will save me a snow ball or two :0

Today it's sunny and I feel FABULOUS!

December 2009

It's December 2009 and I'm writing from Jackson, Michigan at my daughter’s home. My sweet daughter Megan just had another baby and I'm here helping out as much as I can. The babies name is Brody Grant and he is a handsome, healthy boy that we are so in love with. My other grandson Alex is just about to turn 3 now and taking care of a newborn and a toddler is not eactly an easy life :) but well worth it !!

The weather is not too bad right now and from what I hear Houston has the same weather which makes me feel good. I'm not suffering as much as I thought I would, I came prepared to be as cold as a person can get and so far it's been above freezeing so I feel BLESSED! I'm intending that the weather holds out until I leave on December 12th.

Feb. 4th, 2009

Been really busy
Of course.... what's new right?

Since I sold my technology company I have been doing contract work or working for others for about 2 1/2 years now. I finally got tired of that and opened up my own company again. This time I'm only doing what I love. Instead of having a full out- all technology all the time, I'm concentrating on designing websites, logos and newsletters. I will even help them start a business blog.  My focus is a WEB PRESENCE for businesses.

I will officially open my doors on February 9th 2009
